I'm gonna wait it out til next year when the new graphics cards are 2x better than my X800XT, 1/3 performance increase is not worth another $400. By then new CPU's will be coming out as well, should lower the bottleneck the new gpu's are feeling now as well.
7800gt a waste of money

what advantage does 90nm have over 110nm anyway
i know ati is going with this process with its new series of graphics cards
and amd and intel use this for there processors
so why is 90nm so great?

Higher frequencies, lower operating temperatures be default.Originally posted by Death Merchantwhat advantage does 90nm have over 110nm anyway

For the chip company itself? Physically smaller chips resulting in larger yields per wafer = more money.Originally posted by DrunkenPirateHigher frequencies, lower operating temperatures be default.

90nm are able to achieve higher clock speeds. From what I know that's pretty much the main reason for next gen vid cards thatll come with it. And yes ATI's R520 (due out in Oct) will be using 90nm.
Nvidia will release all future cards using 90nm. Except for the vanilla 7800 that's still yet to come.
