What kind of mouse do you use? Which is best?

I went from the cheapy logitech optical mouse to the MX518 and func pad. It is amazing how much better it is, when i touch my mouse it moves like i want it to.

I use that same exact setup myself, and it was like night and day for me with my old mouse and cloth pad when I switched.

mouse and mousepad dont make the player. skill does. you cant buy skill, it is acquired through practice. a mouse and/or mousepad wont make the difference when it gets down to the wire.

No they don't, But they sure help at times when you need to be able to jump/prone or run quickly and you have those functions programmed for your mouse buttons.

I use the Logitech MX 1000 too. I like how precise it is, and its a better ergonomic design than any mouse currently in the market. The only problem Is I have to charge it after extended use, I have to make sure the mouse doesn't go idle in game, otherwise there is a small period of lag when the laser comes back on, and finally its BAD for flying jets unless of course your tracking on glass.

Why? because the Laser is soo accurate it can track on glass 1/4 an inch thick and because it can you need to raise your mouse at least 1/4 " off the pad before the cursor or movement stops.

I love it, the batteries in mine last days without need to be recharged, but i just put it in the thing at night.

One of the reasons why I got a cordless mouse was becuase i found that the wire sometimes got stuck and I couldnt move the mouse down anymore >_<

Its apparently has "20 times the tracking power of optical" and "FastRF, cordless performance - that equals a USB corded connection".

Its got loads of spare buttons on it aswell for any controles you want to put on it.

I have an Logitec MX518 it is the best gaming mouse out at the moment far better than any other mouse. The on the fly dpi change is incredible lower it for sniping and crank it up for fast turret movement in a tank/apc.
Check out this Logitec G5 laser mouse it is the next grade up from the MX518.

Razor are bringing out a new mouse aswell called the Copperhead.

My MX700 performs brilliantly. I much prefer cordless mice - and those with RF transmitters (like the MX700 and MX1000) have zero lag - feels like a corded.

I wont even go into how bad a comparison this is. It's nice to have a good mouse, but it sure as hell doesnt 'seperate the good from the bad' or anythinf stupid like that.

You are forgeting, unless you got a really cheap mouse all of them are the same. Are you really going to tell me you can shoot better with that fancy laser or 1600dpi mouse compared to my $20 optical, when you aim, the race to get whos crosshair can get to the other first dont happen very often, its more about your brains.

Of course, when someone die a lot, and they are rejects, they will want to find something to blame, and what better than bad hardware. Maybe buy a new fancy $100 mouse so you can magically start to own.

Same thing with joysticks and flying jets, you dont need a joystick to fly jets, imo mouse and keyboard are much better at controling the jet than joystick, it may make jets easier to fly for starters but thats all it does.

it could...if it was an older version you could hit the brakes so everyone rear ends you resulting in a massive fireball that takes everyone out. You just have to remember to jump out of the car first otherwise you will be posthumasly declared the winner :laugh:

I've got the MX1000, with an Icemat 2nd edition. I like it, it's wireless but there's absoluty no lag. The battery lasts long, and recharges quickly. It's a bit heavier than wired mice because it has an integrated battery, but you may find the added weight gives it added stability. Just personal preference though.

As I said in your other thread on gamespy I think the copperhead looks like the best mouse ever. Not out yet but looks very kick ass. Logitech is copying razer though don't be fooled at who did it 1st.

The point of my post, was to simply underline the fact that having the proper tools for the job makes the job easier to do. So, for those people still using a cloth mouse pad with an old ball mouse, I think we can all agree that their time in an FPS game like BF2 will have a harder time at it than those with an optical mouse and a teflon coated mouse pad.

And no, I don't think my analogy was stupid. You think that NASCAR drivers/mechanics who install an $800.00 dollar part for a net gain of maybe 3-4 extra horsepower think its stupid to do it? Hardly, especially when trying to get an edge over their opponents in a highly competitive atmosphere and win.
