Hi Lads,
I know this has been done to death, but I am getting conflicting answers from various sources.
I have been running BF2 for a while on my old 21" CRT with a ATI 9800 pro. I recently bought a new beast of a machine and can't seem to get BF2 to match the native resolution of the monitor.
Specs
AMD 64 X2 Dual Core +4800
2GB DDR2
ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe
2 x NVidia 256MB 7800GTX (in SLI Mode)
19" 8ms ViewSonic TFT @ 1280x1024x60
I can get the game working at 1024x768 everything on "High" with 4xAA, but nothing higher and I certainly don't have 1280x1024@xx as an option in the Video settings.
I have tried just about everything I can thing of:
EA suggest you get the best gear you can and even when you buy the fastest machine on earth the damn game still won't work properly.
Any suggestion ?

- The "+sxz 1280 +sxy 1024" fix in the shortcut command line causes the Battlefield 2 banner to appear and then fails back to the desktop with no messages
- I tried changing the Video.con file to 1280x1024@60, this causes the game to load to the menu and then fail
