I run at 29/28C idle and 44/33 full load... thats with a 200Mhz o/c...
And FYI Im sure your temp sensor is reading wrong as the thermal protection crap in AMD64s are 60 or 65C......look it up.
Flash to the newest mobo BIOS get another temp monitoring program etc...Comment

Ehh uhh...........depending on what stepping you have... u are wrong either way... 65C or 70C. You had better invest in a better thermal solution for your rig. Also, my CPU being older, runs HOTTER than yours as its the 130nm processing FYI. The temps you gave me 58 idle 65 load are good for a pentium4 prescott or something, not an AMD64

P4s generally run way warmer than mostly any AMD. I dont know offhand the limit though. Check out Intels website it shoudl have that information on there.Originally posted by CXZARComment

Lets get back to the original q, the stats you have a perfectly fine if you are worried about your chip, running it at 60-65C is fine and will cause no damage, even over longer periods of time. I was running a semperon 2400+ at 90C on some days, and i dont know how but it still works today (it is quite old). The stats they give are lower than those that the chip will infact overheat on as they do not want to get sewd if it overheats for less than thrie stats.Comment

No im ser about the temps, i had 4 diff programs check it coz i didnt believe it when i looked at it.. lmao.. i thought my pc was about to die right then and there..
but iono.. mby they were wrong? neway... And yea i did some more looking around and ur right bout the overall life of the chip :)

And I KNOW the thermal cutoff for that sempron was WELL below 90C... It doesnt matter how many proggys u use to monitor it.. If the sensor is off from the mobo, no proggy will make up for that... :)Comment

First, do NOT touch the hot silocon video card chip when it is "workin' it's magic" static electricty can mess up your comp and u would know diddily. Second, make sure the air flow is working inside the case. If dust or other things are clogging the air, clean the sucker. Also make sure the fans are functioning properly, I.E. blowing in and out respectively. If the video card is not in correctly fires may result... PCs are basically heaters that produce heat, duh, and pretty pictures that move. Also get a better CPU, i suggest a 64 bit one (AMD 64
).
