    Would this let me play?

    These are my system specs:

    Dell Dimension 3000
    Windows XP Home Edition

Graphics card: Ati radeon X1550 (PCI) I know it sucks
Memory: 768mb (probably going to upgrade to 1024)

So what do you think can i play it?
I want to be able to play so the ground texture is high. Overall i want everything to look cool and shiny XD

In simple words: No, like sys said if you can't play demo you can't play the game.

no offense or anything but do you know how to read? Dont bother posting if ur not gonna read what i wrote. I said my CURRENT video card cant handle demo but the specs shown are what my computers graphics will be upgraded to. So could the radeon x1550 (pci) handle battlefield 2142?

My Mobility radeon x700 can handle all low, and a few medium.

x1550 should cut all medium, but all low at the least.

BUT you will need more memory, that 1024 upgrade is needed.

yeah So I'd say all low until you get at least 1 gig or more.

No offense but a PCI card just blows a friend of mine tried installing a crappy RTS with a PCI card and it couldn't run it, a GB of ram will help but if a X1550 AGP has problems running the game then a simple PCI will run it sluggishly.

You'll play the game, but I doubt it'll be pretty. Medium-low at best. Also, don't flame other members around here, unless you want to be shown the door.

Next time, please search around, I'm sure there are benchmarks floating around the internet that answers your question.

For a x1600, but I assume the x1550 is even worse.

who'd have thought a typo would cause so much harshness,,

perhaps if those who pounced that did some research would see that OP meant PCI-e and that the x1550 is only released as AGP8x/PCI-e.

tbh i doubt it will go too well, i run all on low other than draw distance on a 7800gtx with an a64 3500 and 2gb ram. you just won't get the fps, even if you can put every setting to ULTRA. bad luck
