The Future of Total Gaming Network (Question)

Just curious... would you be terribly upset if Total Gaming Network just kind of ceased to be?

Well, this is the main forum that I visit. I enjoy the news posts as they are always on time and what you post is basically the most relevant and important stuff in the world of gaming, so you already filter out what I don't care for me. I also trust your reviews more than I trust any other.
I love all of you guys and here is mostly where I can find you, (I have some of you on Steam?) but lately I also dont' have plenty of time for gaming.
I would be really sad if this just ceased to be, but I also understand that it gives you plenty of work.

Sure I would. Same reasons Jimy said.

I also wonder though if the days of sights like these are past. It seems to me that game developers and publishers have done a good job using "social media" to actually isolate real news and control the flow of information. No one wants to actually post facts anymore or respond on forums. They just want to blurt out opinion with nothing to really go by or prove and if you disagree you are just a hater and should be ignored.

And its tough with the limited interaction. Its just a small group anymore.

That's very curious! I really feel that way. A few years back I remember people complaining as a whole about a certain missing feature or changed feature in a game that they didn't really like. Now it's as if they just eat everything the developers give to them, because even if you try to complain about something the devs won't really care about it. Even on reddit, as soon as the game comes out you can find there are some people complaining, but that only lasts a few days, then everyone just forgets about it, or quits and just accepts what they have.

I would be sad, but not surprised if it happened. It would be hard to see this once great community just cease to be. The abomination known as "battlelog forums" pretty much ruined all other battlefield forums and with social media taking over, forum news is sort of passé. I always felt that Zips was sort of wasting his time here and should have his content front and center on some mainstream news site.

How many actually visit here regularly still? I still like coming here but nothing can last forever. I am surprised it has lasted this long and applaud you Zips for keeping it going. I will be sad if TGN closes down.

I visit once in a while still. I'm mostly on reddit these days (even though deep down I hate it). It would seriously be a shame to see this place go, but I guess we'll have to see how the community reacts to the next Battlefield game, if it's still here at that stage.

Though I'm going to be away from the internet for the next long while. Deep down I hope this place will still exist in 2017, but I'd understand if it doesn't. If it does, however, I'd have been here for 10 years, but didn't register until early '08.
