I really needed a new headset, and after finding a great price for the Steelseries Siberia V2 (about 32 euro new), I couldnt let it pass, as it was the best quality/price option I had. The problem is that my new laptop only has this 1 3.5mm input that takes micrphone and headphones in the same slot, and the headset has two separated jacks for this.
I need an adaptor like this, but does this decay sound and microphone quality? It feels like forcing the two jacks to transfer the data through just one will sacrifice on quality. Does anyone know if this happen? By the way, is there any specific english term for this 3.5mm hole that can fit a microphone jack or a headphones jack?
Basically I just want to know if the adaptor can diminish the sound quality or not, if they have different specifications or if it doesn't matter if I buy a 3 euro adaptor or a 15 euro one because they will all do the same.
Thanks for the help guys.
