yeah, we know. its quite sad actually. A few of you come again and go but I'd say there are around 10 people here who are actually regulars.

TGN is like the formerly large town thats now a rest stop (if we're lucky).

Not only that we had a massive 3 week outage a couple of weeks ago. I don't want to sound pessimistic or anything but I'm wondering if that's our last...

I wish everyone'd come back, but I think a few don't even game anymore. one of the old timers from back in the day said he "grew up". that was a shock.

The outages could probably be pinned on the server we were being hosted on and possibly the hosting company behind it... Not going to name names or anything but you know. You know.

As for the activity: Yeah, I would like it if it were more active than it is. The outages sure as hell have not helped matters. We had a good stretch during E3 in terms of visitors but it seems as though most traffic comes from those who aren't registered and posting and simply from guests reading content.

I'm also sure if we had more than one person producing content (me) that it would be a lot more active than it is. But it's hard as hell to try juggling posting news, with trying to get video reviews/reviews done, to preview videos, to simply wanting to have a life outside of the site as well. It's also not as though I can just go "Hey, we need some volunteers. There is no pay but you need to write as well as I do if not better because I really don't want to have to hold your hand through this." And then have them stick around.

That's the problem TGN and CSN has always had. People will volunteer and then disappear without warning, leaving us right back where we are.

I do try promoting the site and its content on Twitter (even my own personal Twitter) and Google+. But I'll be damned if I try submitting any original content links to Reddit since the times I've tried they say it's self-promotion and this and that, and ultimately downvote it into irrelevancy. And then of course when I did have some decent content last (the blog entry about the high price of admission for a game alpha), it gets wiped when the site craps itself. The content is still there, in part, since I promoted it to an article, but the original blog is gone as are things like Crunch's blogs that were providing content, etc.

It's a Goddamned kicked to the nuts every time.

Not to mention most of the battlefield posting is now on Battlelog, which is horribly spammed, trolled and terribly moderated.

I know I get tired of the "died" threads. If you don't participate you are the reason it died. That's it.

So thanks for stopping by and you take care now :o

                      Easy, Crunch.

Hi Zips.... I would just like to comment on what you said. 1) You bust your ass for this place. It amazes me any time I check in to see how much content you manage to get up. For that, you deserve great props. 2) As you admitted, it's very difficult for this place to regain its size when you're hauling the majority of the weight. Brandon faced the same issue back in the day. While I agree that it is difficult to find people who will work along with you, it's certainly worthwhile. When the network merged, we had myself, Manzi, Webs, Kirk, Dairuka, and others all working on original content, along with others posting news regularly.

In my mind, that's the key to resurrecting this place. Find yourself a big staff. I don't know who is currently working with you aside from Crunch, and I believe that's a problem. All of these guys who still lurk around here obviously have a commitment to the site and to each other. If I were in your position, I would give anybody willing an opportunity to work for the site. Once there are a small army of moderators and content producers, the site will gain more of an aura around it.

As it stands, the vibe around here is one of nostalgia, of longing for 2007-09. I wish I could be in a position to help you out, but my commitments lie elsewhere at this point. I wish you and the community here nothing but the best, and hope that business starts to pick up again.

ALSO - SOMEBODY GO BUMP "O SAY CAN U C." That shit's been quiet for too long now.

And now I fade back into oblivion.....
