No real point getting a Sandybridge unless your into Photo & Video editing, the 955 BE still holds its own against newer Cpu's for Gaming.

No, intel motherboards are as cheap or expensive as AMD. Intel chips are higher priced.

Scinto has a nice layout that was close to my original one as well. I think that will be as close to $300 as you may get.

Why can't you wait a bit and save up a bit more so that you can actually have enough money to build a semi-decent computer instead? Do you have no source of income at all until BF3 and Skyrim come out? That's still a few months off. It would seem more prudent to wait until those games get closer to release to buy the components, even if you still haven't saved more money as prices may have dropped a bit in the mean time.

At age 22 when you pay your whole living by yourself which includes bills, flat rent, university, food, other stuff you dont get much to save you know. Gaining a scholarship while being capable of doing all these is another thing too lol.

The minimum I would spend on a PC to try and play newer games would be $600, absolute minimum. You should save more honestly, if you get something for around $300 you are not going to be happy with the results. I mean my GPU alone was 2/3 the price of your entire budget and it is what I would consider a "budget card" (AMD HD6870). You have $300 now, hold onto it and just wait until you have a bit more then go nuts.
