Any good Calendar programs out there?

I started working at a rock climbing gym recently, and i want to be able to put my schedule on a calendar on my computer. What i want is a calendar that isnt an overlay (No Rainlendar), Allows me to type stuff on specific days, and is easy to read/use. Any suggestions?

I'm looking for something a little more lightweight, if possible. Like, just solely a calender or something, and that i can start up fast.

um... outlook. It opens quickly and is probably the easiest calendar you'll find.

Google Calendar. (Which can sync with iphones and outlook and such)

Windows Calendar. I use it to remind me of stuff at a set time before it occurs. For example if I have some overtime at work next tuesday i can tell it to remind me the day before.

Google calender wins. I just love how it syncs in my sports teams so i can see when and who they play ... then after the game it edits it with the final score!

I use a calendar made out of paper...

I also have a small notebook I keep in my backpack. I haven't used it in a while, but I should probably start using it again to keep track of stuff.

I use Outlook and Thunderbird syncing to Google Calendar for lots of dual boot interoperability fun. :)

don't forget about portable sunbird. similar to outlook (not as good imo), but portable and can be run off a flash drive.

well now I care, because after switching to Win7 my beloved Windows Calendar is no more.

I have yet to find another program which lets me set and appointment/task, then remind me about it within a predefined time before it occurs.

In Windows Calendar I could tell it I had an appointment the next day at 3pm, and could tell it to remind me 1 hour before, for example. I could then close the program, even shut down the computer and when it came to an hour before the appointment a window would appear reminding me: without the main program having to be open.

I am really surprised Sunbird doesn't do that, and theres no reminder feature in Live Mail. Live Calendar & Google Calendar obviously can't do it because they're web based.

What do I do? Is there a way to download Windows Calendar?
