    Windows essentials has a calendar that will let you set reminder

        yes, but it's web based, so it can't just pop up when I'm not using it and say "hey! you've got a dentist appointment in 1 hour!"

                how do you use it offline? windows live calendar is web based.

                    this one is not web based. its a program just like outlook. you can also download movie maker, messenger and other crap.

                            Wow, well this thread definitely sprawled into something i didnt expect. Ive been using Outlook for my scheduling at work just cause it was already there, FYI to all you programmers out there, make a really lightweight calendar that isnt really dumb.

                                                            You need to sign in with a hotmail account. You should see a reminder after that.
