Ye, it would be, although not by much.
    A 4890 > GTX 260
and all a 295 is 2x260's in SLi.

Also the new Catalyst for Ati comes out today i tihnk? So that will enchance the 4890 even more!

I realize you're enthused about your new PC, but if you need advice on concrete, wouldn't you be better off asking on a construction forum?

....I know, I know, bad pun.

Its kind of halfway between the GTX260 and the GTX275 because it has the improved Vertex, fragment, geometry shading (240 32FP32 scalar ALU's instead of 216 on the GTX260) but it has the same clocks as the 260. Clocks dont make a great deal of difference in the long run as most 260s can be overclocked to near 275 clocks anyway... but yeah ur right 2 x 4890s would be faster

Ok so far, im stuck down on the graphic cards & motherboards. Currently i'm thinking of getting 2 of the same graphic cards, as it is one of their options. Just wondering, only one graphic card runs, if there was 2 installed in the computer;[If So, it is a good idea to have that extra graphic card just in case the original one brakes am I right?]

Along i'm really not feeling the motherboards on the site provided, the two motherboards seem to low in performance and the other one seems overpriced. The site did under-go some changes and I remember that they included 3 different types of motherboards from the brand name NVIDIA. Currently the site does not have the NVIDIA motherboards, but with my current computer that is 5 years old i've always kept my upgrades close to there name because lots of people/ local friends have told me that their quality and performance is terrific. What should i do about the the motherboard?

When you talk about all these parts, its would probably be good idea to actually name them all, because at the moment we have no idea what your talking about, and you could be comparing a 3850 to a 4890?!?

As for the motherboards, when it says the brand name is Nvidia, that seems a bit weird to me. I take it your going i7 with your budget, and Nvidia pulled out of the Chipset making about a year ago.

No, the second card is to make the system faster. Instead of 1 card doing all the work to put a moving 3d image in front of you, the two cards split the work between them. It won't give you 2x the performance, but it can get close in some cases and in synthetic benchmarks.

I'd call it a waste of money, but I'm a cheapskate and half my pc came Ebay :)

The motherboard is important, but if you're buying from a prefabber (like ibuypower) then you'll be limited on your options, but that's your call obviously.

As mentioned ^, if you want specific advice, you need to ask about specific parts. Generally, I'd steer clear of nVidia chipsets.

Nvidia make great graphics cards but i agree with megawhompertoo with avoiding their chipsets in general. Equivilent ones from AMD/Intel are often better however there is a lot more in it than just AMD/Intel/Nvidia as they only make the chipsets and its companies like Gigabyte, DFI, Asus etc which are the ones who produce the actual motherboards.

Another vote for a list of the actual componants you are considering.

Do you need a monitor, keyboard, mouse etc?

I've omitted a monitor, and gone up to 2 grand, but this PC is obscenely OTT tbh, and you could easily downgrade the video card to cover the cost of the monitor or just get a cheaper PC. Also, you'd be better off doing self-build if you have the confidence.

On the topic of motherboards, I personally don't think the motherboard matters much. It might be worth spending a bit of extra cash for a better Northbridge chip if you want to do some heavy overclocking, but as far as worrying about who makes it, any of the major brands will be fine. Which motherboard you choose has no real impact on your computer beyond just how many slots and headers you have. You won't notice any difference what so ever when you're actually using your PC.

See, when a motherboard maker designs a motherboard, they don't really do much that the other motherboard makers don't do. You might run into features like Solid Capacitors, but those just prolong the life of your board. They don't change anything the end user interacts with.

So unless you're buying for advanced features like RAID, or plan on overclocking the hell out of your machine, you don't really need to worry about the motherboard as much as people act like you should.

Yeah i don't really recommend a motherboard based upon the extra performance it would give the end user its more to do with known reliability of the brand and ease of use when installing.

As an example i would always urge people to avoid ASRock motherboards as my experiences with them have been less than satisfying. They are not so aweful that they dont work, they do but they are just not as nice to build with as something from Asus or Abit (if they where still around )

:shock:Alright:shock:, long story-short. I had forgotten my laptop charger at home; while I was on vacation. I couldn't buy an extra laptop charger because my computer was built in Poland and specialized there. They had given me a special plug that allows me to have a valid port connection with our plug-in ports.

Instead of creating my own computer, I decided to buy the Gateway FX6000. I honestly went to a local Future Shop, bought the computer with a Samsumg 26" Moniter. But in the other hand I honestly thought that this computer had an Nvidia Graphic Card. Something like a GTX 275. But anywho here is a site with the computer's spec. I was actually happy with the purchase, but I have not tested my computer with any game yet.
