I want to built my my computer, but I need some concrete advice

The site that i will be reffering to for parts, and future purchases. But i want to make sure that i'm not wasiting money for things that have the same quality and performance but is priced higher. For all you guys with computer knowlegde/experiance I definitly need your help on explaining me the differences between products; examples such as differences between motherboards, cpu's, graphic cards etc. [Such as Positives & Negatives & Tips]. I'll make a huge list of what i'll be buying and asking for advice between two different products as I concluded from my last sayings, and also looking at the site will give you a further in-depth view of the types of things I can upgrade my computer with. So stay tuned and ill have a list by the end of tomorrow with all the specs.

Thanks for being interested in the topic & for any advice.

#1. Most motherboards have perfectly good ethernet thingies (can't think of what they're called) that run in 10mb/100mb/1gb modes. Unless you're going wireless?
#2. Depends if you need more space.
#3. Having a dependable DVD-RW/CD-RW drive is always recommended, especially since you can pick those up for $20-$30. If your current one works well and does what you need, why upgrade it?
#4. Most likely, and mostly everyone will recommend a Corsair power supply for you; but we'll need the est. specs (possible gfx card, processor, ect.) to know what wattage to suggest for you.

You might need a new OS..Since your old one might be tied to the motherboard if you had a prebuilt...

I think corsair is slowly getting less and less of the PSU market.
I've seen alot of people buying Tagan.
But personally, always go for one of the following:
            Corsair, Enermax, Be Quiet!, Silverstone

                  1. Should be built-in to most motherboards.
                  2. Get a new one, it's probably much faster than your old one.
                  3. You can probably get away with using your old one here.
                  4. YES. Needs to be at least 500W I'd say, but it depends what you intend to put in your system.

Also, I have two Zalman PSUs. They are quite expensive, but very good.

                      No.
                      No, yes, depends.
                      No, yes, no.
Yes. Corsair is pretty good, Antec is also good. There are a few other good brands out there. Choose other components and evaluate total power draw. You don't need to pay extra for overkill power supply.

Will be interesting to see what you come up with.

I got a bit bored, so went onto newegg (horrible site)
                          And came up with this:

Now that is one killer rig, and will be for a while yet!

that is a nice rig but would 2-4890's be faster than a 295?

look at my system, i was pretty pleased about only having to spend about $1250 on that.

but i did already have the monitor, mouse, keyboard and earphones

people all said the antec900 was pretty fresh so i went ahead and bought that

im not sure what kind of good bang for your buck fancy new stuff is out now but...
