    nuked my psu oh jesus

you wont belive how i did it ..for now lets just say i did the unthinkable..
and i managed to save my system..nothing is burnt..i cant belive it..
ok..i need a new one now..i was efforting that anyway..i need a psu that will power 3 drives 1 rom drive 4 gigs of ram 4 diffrent sticks..q66 asus p5k deluxe and crossfire with two asus eah 4870 dk 1 gig cards, 6 80mm fans also..
    ..
those asus cards take two 6 pin connectors each..
    ok..so ..i found this..
3 rails it should be enough for everything and more ..

You say nothing is burnt but do the components actually work still?

Personally, i'd go with the HX520W or HX620W. Very, very good quality PSU's, not much chance of them breaking.

The 520W is $10 more than the Antec, the 620W $40 more. No a great deal more, but you get a good deal of quality.

              I'd get a Tagan 600W or above.

Okay, now I'm curious. How did you fry it? Did you plug it into 230v on the 110v setting?

Any grounded metal does fine. The PSU should have been fine, would have been dangerous if the PSU had been live though!

i've been running with that trio 650w now for about three years. great psu, but getting a bit dated. probably not quite as efficient at lower loads. the five year warranty was what stuck me to antec at the time, along with past experiences.

good luck with the corsair. hear they are fairly top-notch parts.
