    Vsync off

Will it do anything besides uncap the framerate and allow tearing?

Vsync is brilliant if you have a powerful PC

i like vsynch in some games like bioshock and L4D but i cannot play COD with it on at all. I always feel asthough you get slower response with it on but maybe thats just me.

i always have vsync off, even if i get 150+ fps, I just feel like the comp runs better with it off and I don't notice the tearing much since it's camoflaged by onscreen stuff

V sync rapes your computer and sends its mutant offspring through your letterbox.

It only works if you need it. If you turn it on when you don't need it enabled, it does bad things.

I have only really found the need during videos or cut scenes in game.

Why does vsync have to be so mean?

I always have V-Sync off but i did have it on to test L4D and i got alot of mouse lag. I don't really mind the tearing, tbh i can ignore them.

                            L4D - Vsync + Triple buffering + steady frame rate of 70 = win

Would turning Vsync on in Crysis effect your FPS or performance?
