Re: DVI to HDMI adapter
Are you joking me here, YOU CAN PASS SPDIF SOUND THROUGH DVI CONNECTIONS ON MOST ATI AND NVIDIA CARDS.
There are SPDIF connectors on most modern graphics cards for that reason exactly! As wizard says DVI is the same as HDMI butwithout the sound so its perfectly possible for the graphics card to inject the sound into the signal. Im not lying at all and i would appreciate you get your facts right and do some research before start accusing people. Iv done it myself and it works fine as have many many others, try googling it Here is some evidence
What do u think that little booklet and cable next to it are all about? Appaently you need to use the DVI-HDMI adaptor like the one you can see next to the driver disk.
When would an XLR ever be using in a home entertainment environment? Alternatives would be RCA or a connecor for digital interface such as coax or optical.
I wouldnt pick it out but seein as you seem to think you know so much your totally wrong. S-Video is YC connector which is seperate connection for both the luminance and chrominance (esentially a componant within a cable) which gives a lot more total bandwidth than regular composite (single coax) which sends everything down a single cable so not ANYTHING is better than Svideo. Componants isnt necissarily analogue, you can have digital componant signals. An analogue to digitalsignal converter is called a line scanner and would end up costing more than a new GFX card if you wanted to use anything higher than 640 x 480.
Jeez my uni course is designing TV studios and im damned good at it i wish ppl wud listen to me once in a while :/
