As far as I know, Windows 7 is extremely similar to Windows Vista on a kernel level, so that shouldn't matter a ton. There might be some other factor with the beta causing your higher ping.

Edit: Just got a couple of keys from the site, so they are still available.

Edit No. 2: I just ended up with 4 more keys than I actually need, so if anybody wants a 32-bit key, hit me up with a PM.

Edit No. 3: I'm all out of keys now. Good luck to those I did give a key to, good luck to those who are still trying to get a key. If you don't have a key yet, and have a Microsoft Tech Net/Windows Live/Hotmail/MSN account, try this.

Lol small glitch that just happened to me...

I rebooted, and when it was starting up i said to boot from hard drive since i had to boot from DVD to install it...When it booted up again i got my old choices of windows xp or windows xp....i tried both and one was damaaged and one was really bad...so i was getting worried and booted from DVD then with 7 in it and said boot from dvd drive but then i didnt press a button...but then it booted in windows 7...so im guessing because i have really messed up partitions with windows xp all over the shop im going to have to boot with the Widnows 7 disc in at all times...

Xfire Doesnt work...well it starts up but on the right hand side it is all white..and every game evereyone is playing is Uknown Game

I just got a 64bit key in the first try now, after countless fruitless attempts earlier.
        So don't give up

But be warned: I got the key while using FF, but could only get the download running from IE

In vista you can just upgrade...On a new partition...

I'm pondering upgrading, but I'd rather not upgrade until I know EXACTLY what will happen when the beta ends.

I might simply resize my primary partition to make room for a dual boot.

I know for sure I'll be putting it on my 1200Mhz Duron PC with 512mb of ram just to see how it fairs.

Yeah, I just went into Disk Management and used the Partition Editor that's built into Vista, and shrunk my partition by 16 gigs. That left plenty of room for Windows 7.

As for Windows 7 though, it's nice, but I don't think I'll be buying it. It's got some really nice features, but it doesn't seem any faster than Vista (Though it's loads faster than Windows XP was) and the User Interface isn't as intuitive as the hype said it would be.

                                ok well..
i just installed this..and it looks way more promiseing than vista..
i do like it..im not against it..
myself i find it less buggy but i think somethings can be better right off the bat..
memory usage right after install around 800 ish...and now running update and posting on the fourms here im over 1 gig..the theme is not that impressive either in fact ill take the regular vista theme over it ..
but this is stable what i got and its not some pirate release in fact this was downlaoded directly off microsuck website LOL..anyway..long story cut short ..
install is still a long time still..umm i have 298 gig drive it says i have 282 free ..i have not installed anything but winrar..odd..
with that being said the ultimate 64bit windows seven after install is 16 gigs on the drive..WOW DUDE!!!..they did change nearly everything around like control pannel and some minor things like that for better navigation and what not ..im not sure if i like it or not ..i just hope in the end they way they did it all makes since to me..
