just installed those 2 extra sticks of ram, atm my comp is picking up 3.25 gig ram, do u think i haven't quite fully slotted 1 stick in or does that sound about right? seems abit lower then it should be to me

It's because you have 32bit Windows. That will only detect 3.25gb max as the graphics memory overlaps.

If you want the full 4gb, you need Windows Vista/7 64bit.

managed to increase my budget by about an extra £200 (£300 possibly but would rarther not..)

wot would u recommend for a new Processor, was thinkin quad core and a new mother board, if possible that would still be able to run my current Ram (DDR2 i believe)

id shop around but coz im crap at knowing wots wot i have no idea wots compatible and what not

Q9550 is like the whole £200 budget gone, and more
P43 or P45 motherboard £60-80
I would still go with the Q6600 tbh £150ish
same GPU and powersupply as before. Check out the today only page on scan you might make a bit of saving or get something a little bit better for the same cash

You could always get 790FX/GX or NF750i motherboard and one of the new Phenom II CPUs if you wanna stick with AMD.
