They look pretty much identical to me. The only difference is in the cooling solution, and the DK one looks okay to cool the card itself. It doesn't have the plastic piece on it, so it probably won't vent air out of the case quite as well, though.
As long as your case fans are up to snuff, it shouldn't be an issue.

i think the one they are offering has a zalman VF1000 cooler on it... definately something similar.

They tend to be pretty damn effective coolers, quiet too :)

If it where me i wud tell them to jack it and send me the original one. if they dont have them in stock and your replacement is under guarantee then they are obliged to send you an upgrade for free or refund... i think :s

The new one has better cooler. The old one doesn't look like it has heatpipes.

old one is a just a reference cooler; the heatpipes are under the hood.

in general, i'd trust asus to come up with a non-reference cooler that performs better than what ATI has designed. alot of the heat will naturally move out the back of the card without being directly ported that way; the hot air that is left behind shouldn't be a problem if you have at least a minimal amount of exhaust going on.

RMAs always cause some stress, always. Either it takes a very long time to recieve your item back, they send the wrong item back (Model below what you originally purchased), your not home when the item is shipped to you and they didn't tell you it was being sent back and required a signature, and finally you have to put it back in your case once you get it back.

If you get the DK cooled card, the wait is certainly worth it!

It's a lot more effective cooler and should allow some better overclocks :)

RMA's do take a long time, my XFX RMA took about 5 weeks (although you probably saw what happened in the thread i made here).

It's not important, can't be arsed to dig it up anyway.

                            Get on here: http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/

There should be a template of an official warning letter. I used it on Overclockers when they wouldn't refund me for a mouse. Legal warnings work well, i got my money the next day.
