Yes. The only thing the 9800 has is HybridGraphics which is... um.... craptacular?

Re: Thinking of getting a 4870
Is there really a difference between the 9800GT and the 4850 at 1280x1024?
Anyways, I've decided not to buy anything for now, since both my monitors are 1280x1024, I'll wait a few months to check out the upcoming cards and a new monitor.Leave a comment:

Okay, more choices.
EVGA 9800GT 512mb GDDR3 (dual-slot cooler) - $95
Asus 4850 512mb GDDR3 (Asus cooler) - $120
Sapphire 4870 512mb GDDR5 (heatpipe cooler) - $165 after promo code
4870 still?

Re: Thinking of getting a 4870
I think you should. It's cheap, way cheaper than nvidia's competition and it's a really good card. Plus then you'll have 2 great gaming PCs as opposed to one great one and one that is kinda ok

Thinking of getting a 4870
$165 after promo code & rebate. My PSU is plenty powerful and it will fit into my case. I have another rig with a 3650 so if I get this I will retire the 3650 and move my 8800GT into that rig.
Any thoughts?Tags: None
