I've actually read that the OCZ platinum sticks overclock better and are overall better sticks

its why I chose them :)

            ohh, nice find skaggy, thanks.

And another question.... When 64bit is installed will the hard drive be formatted completely? Or will it just overwrite files etc...

If your 64bit Vista comes with SP1, do the RAM first.

If it's an old install disk that doesn't come with SP1, install with 2GB of RAM, then put the other 2GB in after you've patched to SP1.

                    Re: Should i?

microsoft said it will come with SP1...
But does it matter that im running 2x1.5gb ram, that makes 3gb...
and i will be replacing those 2 sticks with the new ones.

In that case, just wait until you have fitted your new ram before reinstalling.

Too bad you only have 2 RAM slots or you could have had 7 GB :p

Good luck and have fun with the upgrade!

7 is an odd number, go 6 or 8
