but anyway, is this a good gfx card for playing stuff like left 4 dead, Cod5, and cod4 on max graphics with at least 70FPS?

btw i saw this on NewEgg for 150.00 USD and its in my budget

Moved to tech center. In my opinion the Radeon 4850 would be a better purchase, but irregardless of that, it will be more than your gpu which dictates your framerate.

Whats the rest of your system?

You might see little improvement if the rest of your PC isnt up to the job.

20'' in moniter

650watt pw supply aircoold 1 fan
sli capable 2 way



btw does a radon work with nvidia processor? (im not sure if its the processor but inside trheres like nvidia logos everywhere and all on the parts )

Well, seeing as Nvidia doesn't make processors, i think you should be alright. A stock 3.8Ghz cpu has got to be an Intel P4. I think the 4850 would be a nice little frame rate boost for you.

I think the 4850 is overkill on a p4 3.8ghz thats about equivilent to an AMD 3700+

Id personally reccomend a 9800gt, you wont see the kind of benefits going above that due to your cpu

I agree with DM on this one. That CPU will massively bottleneck even a 9800GT nevermind a 4850, especially if thats ddr1 ram!

Quad core means the CPU chip itself has four CPUs built into it however i doubt one would fit in your motherboard.

If i where you and i was thinking of upgrading i would look at your finances and see if you can scrape together enough for a full CPU RAM + GPU upgrade. Here is an example of a pretty average gaming system.

GPU 9800GT $100
Mobo Asus P43 $87
CPU E5200 (dual core) $83
Ram 4GB PC6400 DDR2 $43 (if you need it)
Corsair 400W PSU $60 (if you need it)

Total excluding rebates, shipping or whatever else you have to deal with in US is
$373

Im not saying this is an ideal setup, the cheapest set up or the most effective setup - i will let an american do that as im sure they will better understand the pricing system. What i have done here is give you an example of something that would be worth while.

If you just went for the GPU i listed (which seems to be a pretty good deal to me) i think you would probably need a new power supply but i cant say as i dont know what you have. If you dont want to have to buy both i would go for something liek this.

Or make it worse. I'd get a new CPU first. The E7500 is just coming out so it should do good things to E7200/7300 prices. Then a 9800GT would be good.

I'd keep your current PSU, or get a higher Corsair model.

Yeah i probs would too but if cash is tight then the one i suggested would probs do the trick, same goes for the CPU.

Its a dell box so the PSU will definately be minimal wattage and have very little room for anything more power hungry than what he already has.
