they make it seem like there's more females playing than there actually is.

we all know it's bunch of kids for the most part, at least on the consoles.

It's that kind of attitude that keeps most female gamers from representing them selves online truly. Yes FPS titles are still largely played by males, but there are enough females playing them too. Once it stops becoming a issue then we will have a better sense of who we are playing online with. In a game like WoW where it's more normal it's usually a non issue, yes you hear about females getting special treatment, but I've almost never witnessed that, and my guild when the game started had about 25% females playing. left 4 dead as well.

Yes gamers can be silly, even rude and racist. However if your in a server that has decent admins or a vocal female population, that is largely in check. Heck I remember back in the day a really good call of duty 1 clan server I played on that had a few female members, and that whole gender issue was handled more maturely. People would crack jokes back and forth, especially if you were a regular. The best part were some of the male and female members were gay, so if some new stereotypical gamer immature gamer came in and was all like "OMG your sooo gay for killing me", they would just pipe back, "Oh thanks for noticing!" and then the stereotypical gamer would really be confused and would usually shut up, and everyone would go back to actually playing videos games instead of spending most of their time in the most retarded conversations of all time.

Seriously I've been gaming for almost 20 years, and in the last 10 I've seen the behavior get worse largely. At the same time more kinds of people are gaming, and I would like to introduce them to competitive online games too, but until we all start expecting better behavior from fellow gamers, games like WoW and co-op games, are the only genres I'll be able to recommend.

Who cares who they are. I get tired of reading about all this. All I want is them dead if they are on the other team or them supporting me when they are on my team. They all play men online, so it doesnt matter.
