Re: Gaming Laptop

Can anyone suggest a good gaming laptop. I want to get one now since I need a new computer and I am going to a University next year so I will need a laptop anyways.

Thanks!

... I'm just suggesting a good gaming laptop here the question he asked. I'm not trying to be an ******* just answering the question.

Re: Gaming Laptop

No, but for the price of a gaming laptop you could get an equivalent desktop and have enough leftover for a basic laptop for portability.

That's not even the point of the OP, he WANTS a laptop, we advise him on a LAPTOP. I don't care if there is a desktop that can win out on a cost-analysis, he doesn't want one, upgrade or no upgrade.

Furthermore, there are laptops for $1500 that can perform at the same level as a 1200$ -1500$ laptop.

Re: Gaming Laptop

The Dell 1330 isn't that great. But the others mentioned are pretty good for their range (apart from alienware, bit of an overkill price).

I'd still tell you to go to the Sager website.

Re: Gaming Laptop

I included the 13.3 laptops because of their portability and they can do gaming on low-medium settings. I'm buying the sony, so I should be able to review it soon. :p
I cant comment on sager. Never seen one or read about them.

Re: Gaming Laptop

I have a Toshiba 17" with Nvidia 8600 and SLI - 2GB mem and Core2Duo. The only bottleneck I have is net speed - the laptop blows through CoD4/5 with no issues at high settings.

Re: Gaming Laptop

I bought it from Amazon, about a year ago. They had it on sale, and I saved about $300. That link listed 5, the one I got was the Toshiba Satellite X205-SLI1:

• Portable multimedia powerhouse for HD video enthusiasts and PC gamers; includes HD DVD-ROM drive and four Harman Kardon speakers and subwoofer built in
• 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo T7250 processor, dual 120 GB hard drives (for 240 GB capacity), 2 GB RAM (4 GB max), dual-layer DVD burning
• Quad-band Wi-Fi LAN (802.11a/b/g/n); Bluetooth 2.0+EDR; Gigabit Ethernet; Nvidia SLI Dual GeForce 8600M graphics (up to 767 MB of available memory)
• Connectivity: 6 USB, 1 FireWire, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA, 1 S-Video, 1 ExpressCard 34/54. 5-in-1 memory card reader
• Pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium with Media Center

Re: Gaming Laptop

Thanks! I narrowed it down to 3 using their website and that was one of them.

Thanks!

Re: Gaming Laptop

The only thing I can say is there's a lot of crapware preloaded on the Toshiba that you should yank off of it, but that seems to be true of most PCs these days.

Re: Gaming Laptop

For $2,499 you can get a Sager NP5797 with a top spec graphic card 9800M GTX 1GB DDR3 memory and Blu-ray reader. With this you can max most games at 1920x1200 with high framerates apart from Crysis. Best gaming laptop for the price imo.

Re: Gaming Laptop

or u can forget the sager and go to ALIENWARE AND OWN THE COMPETITION. . .
