the i5 platform is also supposed to have integrated PCI-E controller so for gamers, people who liek to use multiple GPU systems and anyone using software with GPU acceleration; they may result in better overall performance.

Im also glad i saved my cash and just did a mini upgrade to keep me going until they revised it :)
However, it doesn't have as many lanes iirc.

PCI-E lines? so its to be restricted to less than 16x?

It's thought a maximum of 16 lanes, which is a pain if you have any other PCI-E devices.

Why not route 16x PCI-E through the onboard controller and all other devices (which may be less important) via the Southbridge?

Oh, if there's PCI-E from the SB as well, then it's fine.

i dont really get the point like what do i do play games, websurf and maybe make a few videos. all im really concerned about is my comp running games at the time BF3 comes out and then if it doesnt run it well i will have to look at what i can get to make it run well.

This is pretty much where I'm at right now. With the games I play, I'm stable at 60FPS with Vsync on and everything at the highest settings at 1600x1200. Even I can't justify spending that kind of money when I'm perfectly fine as it is.

The only two games I can't play at those settings and framerate that I've tried are Crysis and GTA IV, and I don't even like either of those games.

I dont think i7 was ever really developed with gamers in mind i mean looking at the benchmarks the only way you really get more out of it over Q9**** systems is if your running multi GPU systems. I think its more for people who do a lot of rendering and workstation stuff.
