So, who's going to get Core i7 and X58 before 2009? The calculated cost with 920 and cheapest X58 board would be about $600, and tri-channel DDR3 isn't as expensive now. For $900 with video card, PSU and drives recycled from older computer, one may build a Nehalem rig with minimum cost.
Damn my car just broke down. I just can't get one.
Actually I think I'm going to wait till some more benches and reviews come out tbh...because I've seen benchmarks where it only gains 1-2fps over a Q6700...

Agreed, im gunna be upgrading around that time aswell but i dont think early benchmarks are anything to be trusted.
Wait till early next year and see how things pan out
I'm going to save up and overhaul my current rig or at least recycle some of the parts this summer.
I plan to build the highest end rig possible, to last me through my first 4 years of college or at least be easily upgradable through college. I might skimp a bit so I can buy a laptop too though. Depends on how much money I have saved.
Meh, i will wait for at least a year and a half before making any changes except for RAM and GFX, others like Mobo, and CPU will have to wait for at least a 1yr and a half.

Microsoft is really going to have to step up the plate and deliver some massive bloatware to justify that much hardware...
...sorry, couldn't help myself...and I am crossing my fingers that Windows 7 will be worthwhile.
Seriously though, synthetic benchies aside, i can find no purpose for that next best thing atm, and certainly not with the discounts on--lol, "legacy" gear--p965, 975, x38, e6600's, q6600's, and the current gpu price wars.
