thankyou everyone for so much feedback..i have been reading a lot of reviews...and since i have the asus p5k motherboard i think getting the asus version of the card may be better ..it seems the comments on the card are a little better also...asus = quality etc etc..
so what do you guys think of the 1 gig asus card???

all things being equal, always go for the higher amount of ram in a high-end card. that gddr5 btw, absolutely rocks!

the exception is when you're looking at lower end cards--they put out a 1gb version of the x1600pro (gddr2 iirc) and there was basically no improvement over 512mb.
