I agree. That build should prove to be excellent for most computing needs. There's a lot of hype around those 4870's, and the word is they perform exceedingly well.

ok so ebuyer have discontinued the intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Socket 775 (3.0GHz)

can anyone please suggest a site where i can get it for £114 or tell me of just a good CPU for around that price.

E8500 @ >4ghz. :awes

Edit: Or a E8200 if you only want 3ghz. Both are 45nm dual core with 6mb cache (as opposed to E8650 65nm 4mb cache), and I don't think quads will help in gaming for a while.

Edit 2: E8500 is the same price as the Q6600 on Newegg, but on Ebuyer they're 50 pounds away.

Well if you cant pay more for the processor the E6850 is only 10% slower games but between the two id go for the Q6600 if you want to do some overclocking if not the e6850 is better at stock settings

if you want 45nm then go for the E7200, youll save money and 3mb of cache loses 5-10% max, overclock it to 4ghz if you want to :)

If you can afford E8500, get it. No for quad core.

For a quid you can get the WD6400AAKS. This drive has 2 320GB platters instead of 250GB ones. It's newer, faster and cheap.

OCZ Vendetta? Why not a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme? It's literally one of the best air coolers available.

Any particular reason why not P45? What about a P5Q-E? It's P45, crossfire ready, and cheaper than the P5k Premium.
