wow really, i would never have tought that it would be 50% cheeper...

I was attracted by their 10€ per month for the first year offer and then like 50€ every month for 3 years...Because i kinda dont got 1000€ lieing around..What should i do

DO NOT get into one of their financial deals. You'll end up paying another £500 extra back. Plus, the computer will be old and you'll want to upgrade after a few years, but you'll still be paying back Dell.

Save a bit more or go for a cheaper PC.

I'd just like to quote that. 18.9% APR... Are you mad?

if you want enough money, get a loan from the bank, then you pay less back in the future.

And, to be honest, i don't think you are going to find anyone who will help you build a Dell PC.

This area of the forum is 100% against buying high end machines pre-built like that as you get ripped off and you also get parts that go out of date stupidly fast.

Don't kid yourself that, that PC will last 5 years. No way.

The two main components, the Q6600 and 8800GT are old already. Soon, the Q9450 will be standard and the 8800gt has been replaced buy the 9800gt, hell, even the new Radeons are the same price but 50% better performing...


If you want help building your own PC, we will help. So many users like youself come here and want to buy a pre-built computer and we have persuaded them not to. It's easy to make your own now, it's a matter of clicking parts together.

I mean, let's get some testimonials.

I've actually bought my computer from dell, and I'm pretty for it, as long as you have a good reason and know what you're doing. I was able to call them up and get them to take 300 bucks off my order just becase. Then, I was able to get into a 12 months same as cash. So I got the rig on my profile for 1200 flat (This is when it was all new parts). No finance charges or ANYTHING. So if you know what you're doing and am good at persuading the company reps. And can get something like I did. Go for it. But otherwise, listen to these guys.

I built my PC because i was on a very tight budget and couldnt afford to pay a premium for quality. So i looked up loadsa parts, reviews, then when i had a list i came back to the tech center (here) and asked if it was good for my budget. Some people gave me suggestions that i should change and stuf like that and it turned out for the better. Come christams day i opened up all the parts went up to my room and built it. It was so easy and i have to agree, as Alex said it is just a matter of 'clicking' parts together. Open motherboard box, screw motherboard in, click gfx card into place..etc etc.. Its easy!! Also it turned out i had an incredible system that was all handpicked by me and built by me. So i know every component in my PC. And it was alot cheaper than buying pre built. Also this system is pretty darn good for a budget system and should last me a while. I know this because i stress the point again, i know everything inside my PC..

Think of it this way, if you got a Dell you might see ohh Q6600, ohh 8800Gt, but what you dont know is the quality of those parts, or the motherboard, or anything like that. I say the only good thing about buying pre built is the warranty...But thats no biggy, so there is basically nothing going for pre built..

I hope you take into consideration the above and build a PC yourself...

Built my first PC about a month ago...

• I was able to include the exact components I wanted, custom tailored to my own requirements/budget.
• It would have been a good deal more expensive to buy it pre-built.
• It was fun to make, and I've learnt skills (if you can call them that) that I'll use in the future.
• I've now got a computer that plays all my games brilliantly and is so much easier to upgrade when it eventually doesn't.

You'll regret even considering buying a Dell when you build you own system.

LiaM-Z, you can build 2 of those PC's for a total of 2000 euros (maybe even less).

We are all trying in different ways to prove to you that buying a Dell is a big waste of money, especially since building your own computer is very easy and fun. Hopefully one of us have shown you that building your own PC rocks.

Also, that PC will NOT last you 5 years....1.5 years sounds right :P

everyone on this thread agrees that Dell is NOT the way to go you can build two gaming rigs and one work PC with 2000+Euros.
