Invalid iwd file

I can't connect tonight, what is the fix?

I had same problem. the file would download, then it would prepare to switch to the map load screen then I would get error mesage "Impure client detected. Invalid .IWD file referenced." Anyone got any ideas?

it means you have too many iwd files in your mod folder
go to
c:\program files\activision\cod4-mw\mods\bfe

and move some of the map files
example: mp_village.iwd

i put mine in a folder inside that folder called "map storage"

Quick fix we used winrar to get all of the files that were needed and sent them to people lol no doubt this will be fixed next time

PROBLEMS

first of all i downloaded files from teamspeak link maps aswell and overwrote existing files in /cod4/mods/bfe then turned auto download off when i started the game this displayed the error Z_bfemod
(LOCAL FILES EXIST WITH WRONG CHECKSUM)????????????????????

the auto download was reaching -30 secs and over 1000 percent done.

i updated punk buster still nothing

i completely rebuilt bfe folder from server files (zweibz) sent then it said the same.

i compleately uninstalled cod 4 done fresh install with no mods and started again
THAT DID NOT WORK
i know other people were on and i would think copying sombodys bfe folder who was able to join this may have cured it other than that i hope for saturday that its sorted :cry::cry:

Tho, I'm sure the problem was probably due to the fact that the redirect/teamspeak links possibly had a newer version of the mod (or older) then the servers...

Nope, the redirect and server were both th exact same file. Killuaxc checked and re-uploaded to be sure.

Ive not heard if we figured out what it was, all i know is when i left map 2 US half, we were still as confused as Pathfinder!

But, we WILL get this sorted for Saturday fear not people of the BFE world!!

We had two guys last night that had the same problem. I had gotten the files the night before (Tuesday Night) and I was able to log in Wednesday with no problems.

What we found is that the z_bfemod file was corrupted. It shows as 7 MB instead of 778 KB or something close to that.

The two guys are both running XP and did all of the things that you folks suggested, deleted bfe folder, etc.

The fix ended up being that they deleted their z_bfemod file and I sent them the one from my PC via xfire. Once they replaced their file with mine, one of them got in. The other one had to replace the...I forget the name of the file, but it ended in .FF. I sent him mine via xfire and he was then able to log in.

So, in short, the fix is to delete your z_bfemod file and get it from someone who has a good working copy. (The one at the site that Zweibz was having them download last night was not working.)

If you still get an error, you'll need to replace your .FF file with one from someone's PC who is working correctly.

I'm not at my home PC at the moment, or I'd upload the files somewhere and put a link.

Yeah I tried for ages on xp, removed files downloaded and tried various other files. always the same .iwd checksum error.

Did you get the files from someone who was able to log into the game? I know that Zweibz had been working with DarkKnight and Preacher and he was having trouble either getting them files or getting them files that worked. I'm not sure.

But when I sent them my z_bfemod file, it worked. If you are still having problems, xfire me and I can try sending you my files.

there were a few with same prob im on vista 32 (but its just a mod update and control ) should be incompatable any way some on vista and some on xp

the real trick was (i think) after downloading the mod file from totalgaming (in the ts chan description) u try and connect and reconnect until u got a slow download speed, the it was ok! but that's behind us now so too bad.

Those of us on Vista were having issues as well. It took almost an hour to get in the game first half on the EU server, and finally the file gods smiled and I could play the half. When it came time to play the US half, I believe we needed to dl new files as well. With the everlasting patience of Killuaxc', we tried every variation of getting the right files in the right place, to no avail. I wasn't able to get in at all on the US half. I told him to go rejoin the game, as him playing there will help our side more than working on my issue and keeping us both out.
