I heard that Microsoft is releasing a Service Pack for Vista somewhere 1st quarter next year. I found this time line on the internet:
Timeline
• Till February 9th: Nominations are being accepted
• Till mid February: Customer selection and program kickoff.
• Q2’07: Windows Vista SP1 Beta testing and deployments.
• Q3’07: Windows Vista SP1 RC testing and deployments.
• Q4’07: Windows Vista SP1 RTM testing and deployments. Customer signoff on Windows Vista SP1.
• RTM + 60 days: TAP ends and customers move to normal support channels.
If u wanna know more about the dangers of Vista read this:
I am looking at a new PC as well but think I am going to stick with XP for now and switch in future once SP1 of Vista has proven itself.
