    Wireless microsoft multimedia keyboard problem

My friend is having a problem with his keyboard. It's a wireless microsoft multimedia keyboard and it looks like this:

The problem is that none of the keys work except two or three.
I have no clue what's wrong with it. It's very strange because the mouse and the keyboard came together and they both connect to a single receiver. The mouse works fine, but the keyboard doesn't. It's not a problem with the USB port because his ipod and other devices work in all the USB ports. What's also weird is that the F-lock key always works, but the calculator key will work only somtimes.

Other than that, all of the other keys stop working completely. He had this problem before, but whenever the keys would stop working he'd just switch to a different USB port. But after he put it into every USB port, they just all stopped working for the keyboard.

I've checked with google and other people have had this problem but the responses are all the same, saying to update the drivers but that doesn't work, so I thought I'd just see if anyone here knows what's going on.

    ThankQ

No, he's spilled nothing on it. It works when he uses it on his brother's laptop. They're both Vista computers so I don't see it being a problem with Vista. He's offline now but later on I'll have him check windows update and see.

But my keyboard is a multimedia keyboard (wired), and I don't have drivers for it. All the keys work except the ones that open folders.

Is the PSU strong enough? I always have problems with USB when the PSU isn't giving enough power.

I'd think so since it's a custom built PC specifically for gaming, but I'll have to look into it.

              The computer, not the peripherals
