^^ I swear Newcastle is on the same network as us, but maybe they limit your connection at the routers or something.

Although, it's not all good. They love their port blocking

They block hardly anything. There is no web filtering or anything. The only troubles i have really come across are sending email via a non-standard SMTP port and using BF2's in game browser.

But, there are ways around that such as piggy backing on my uni's smtp and using xfire to load into games.

As a tax payer I object to you using the education internet system for use of games or other personal stuff, the system should be used for school work only.. Bah, who am I kidding I would do the same.

If you have the files on your old drive, you could just copy them over to the new drive, either by networking, external hdd, usb pen, plugging old hdd in new pc as slave or using lot's of discs.
Just make sure steam is updated on the old drive and installed and updated on the new drive, then copy the games into the new steam directory.
You may have to create new shortcuts to your games, if you don't start them through steam.

I'm not in school right now, but here in Arizona I pay $50/mo. for a 12Mbit connection which equates to roughly 1.5MB/s and I'm loving it.

I can't imagine something nearly 6 times faster than my connection!
