Hency why i chose the "you should have done your research" option. It's like buying a Ford Mondeo when you could have got a Nissan Skyline for the same price.

One's faster than the other, and when pushed, tunes better as well :)

Go with the Intel Build..but are you really going to use wireless on the desktop? If not then go with the other PK5 to save a little. And I'm being dead serious when you should stay with 2gigs of the Corsair ram and invest a little more into a better Power supply.. the PSU is the heart of the system which pumps the blood(power) to everything...it fails your whole system fails and can fry with it. You can add more ram later if you really need it.

Those Corsair PSU's are very good, and a lot of overclockers use them. That 620HQ will do fine :)

I've been told that AMD 6000+ is a high dual core CPU while Intel Q6600 is low quad core CPU. So they're similar unless I OC the intel one.
Consequently I decided to get a cheaper Intel E8400 3.0ghz dual core. Then, for the motherboard, I looked at the Gigabyte EP35-DS3P, (since most cheap board don't offer IEEE and I need it)
So what do you think of the new E8400/gigabyte combo ?

I checked for some recent HD and I found this one for a special discount: Seagate 500G 7200 32mb

What do you think, is this a ok product or a customer trap ?

Anyway, I'll need some confirmation because the majority of the discounts end on April 30, so I'll have to complete my build with some DVD writers and buy within a week.

And about PSU, the Corsair one is enough for me as I'm not a ubber overclocker, in fact, I don't even know if I'll overlock at all

As i said before the intel build is fine and the 620HX W is pretty good i have one and its a solid PSU take it from me

E8400 FTMFW i was gunna recommend that to you but i thought u wanted a Quad :P sry, but yeah that E8400 will easily eat the AMD 6000, trust me Alex will back me up on this.

The E8400 will have that AMD chip any day.

And, Corsair HX PSU's are just good all rounders. If you want overclock they will happily aid you, if not, they are just damn reliable and efficient.

Don't mount them directly upside down...otherwise it won't matter on modern drives.

You could also consider the Q6700 now that the price has nosedived.
