Isn't that the expected speed? You take the given download rate and divide it by 10 and that's your download rate in megabytes per second.

The "24Mbps" you see is actually 24megabits per second and not megabytes. See here

I have a 1Mbps connection so I download at around 100Kbps. People with 8Mbps will get 800Kbps downloads.

You get 2000Kbps downloads, that's darn good!

                  Your speeds are seem bad for 24mbit (24000/2500?) ADSL2+ ... I get the following with 1500/256 ADSL1.

How far are you physically from the exchange? I've heard if you're over 6.1km from it, the speeds reduce down to something like ADSL1. Check the graph on this page: http://www.internode.on.net/resident...ernet/extreme/

Well According to my ISP my expected speed taking in account my distance from the tower is 6000kbps... which i got the first time i tried it.. but now it runs a 2600kbps..

I'm not too sure about that site... My computer says I have a 100mbps line. Speedtest says I get 7000kbps download and 800kbps upload.

On filefront I get between 700kb/s - 1mb/s. On the nvidia website, I get usually between 1mb/s - 3mb/s, and one time when downloading from TGN I got 1.5mb/s. So I perfer judging my download speed by actually downloading something from one of those websites, rather than using speedtest.net. Maybe you guys should try doing that, too

U guys above should consider urselves lucky ^_^! srsly, i mean i use a wireless router that has a 15gig limit, although i dnld movies on bitlord and music on limwire i do play online (altho i never lag...much, i still do dnld much) and i have a second user sharing this router in (my sister) in her room, and she dnlds a heap load of garbage i.e. The OC, Songs, all those normal user stuff, and my mom checks her email, i wish i could persuade my mom to up the internet limit but unfortunately 'Batleco' (my internet service) charges a helluva lot, so i am currently waiting for new companies such as vodafone! O2!

Oh and btw i dnld skins and mods the most and my dnld spead is 160Kbps down to 20kbps if the limit has reached :< (sry 5N1P3R for derailing mate but just wanted to show how u guys have better internets)

That's your connection to your router, most likely.

ok i just now fixed my internet.. my problem was the filter that was sitting between my modem and phone line was causing the loss of speed.. now this is what im getting..

so if any of u guys are having problems getting ur recommended internet speed (usually determined by ur distance from the exchange tower) then try getting rid of the filter.. make sure ur modem has a DIRECT connection to the phone line.. I more than doubled my internet speed by doing this. :)

P.S. my upload is normally around 700-800+
