Is there anyone who can tell me whats wrong with my computer?

Heres a vid showing what happens when I try to play CoD2, also this same thing happens in ALL games I try to play. No games work for me at all. Also when I watch movies on WMP or VLC my computer often crashes and restarts, or restarts the screen.

Things I have tried to do in order to solve this already
*Install latest drivers
*Uninstall earlier drivers and then installing latest drivers
*Reinstalling my whole bloody computer

I would be very grateful for any help! :)

Looks like a vid card issue to me,artificating on the vid card leads to issues like those due to overheating.So your vid card is dying,overheating or you tried overclocking and it damaged the memory.

clean your rig out removing any dust you find, there may be dust blocking the airflow

Well.. you're profile says your GFX card is broken. Could that be the problem? :P

lol! Well I believe its the gfx card but I was never sure... I'm a complete n00b at this ****. I certainly haven't tried to over clock it but how the f can it be constantly overheated? melted?

If it became too hot for a long period of time, it can become damaged permanently, as it is an electrical component.

get a can of compressed air and clean out the insides, you dont have to remove all the parts just a blast of air around inside, in a well ventolated area ofc

Yes I thought this might have been the problem... last summer (just before it gave up) I played for about 16-18 hours a day and it was 30C outside and probably like 35C in my room. I don't know how hot the card gets but its most likely it was very hot for a very long time (may to august).

3 reasons for this: (some have been mentioned)

1. Higher Overclock than it can handle
2. Over heating
3. Card is going bad


there is no 4 or 5 or 6 here....thats it.


I suggest a RMA to the card maker.

so, what's a good temperature to keep the card in order to prevent these problems from occuring? My 8600GT on idle is around 50C - 52C, but when I play games it gets up to 74C - 76C. This is with the fan speed set to 30%.
I don't have problems, but it's good to know just in case

Your temps sound find. I remember hearing that a BFG 8800GT OC can endure up to 90C.

Looks like overheating, as Scinto said get yourself some compressed air and hose it, double check the GPU fan as well to make sure it's not weighed down with dust. That being said your's can't be as bad as skaggehs:

I had one dropped off yesterday that looked 10x worse than that! Looked as if someone ripped apart a cat and stuffed it up into the computer case. I should have taken a picture but I get them very often from people that don't know any better.

ages ago, i had graphics problems. i was getting the same sort of thing you described under 'serious problems'. someone suggested overheating, turned out it wasnt. it was simply a crap driver update. i just reset it to its original version and waited till a stable one was released. dunno if this'd work in your case or not though
