p5k power connector URGENT!!

sry guys but i need help right away plz..
this is the last thing im waiting for before i power her on..
i have the p5k and all my parts now..
my question is this,
the power connector for the tuniq is a 3 pin connector and on the board it reads cpu fan but its a 4 pin connector...
also it reads on the board pwr fan on another 3 pin power connect..can i just use that ? or is it not safe to do so?

i cant post pictures of it because i tore my other pc apart or i would..plz help thx

The 3-pin tuniq should still fit the 4 pin on the mobo. It's for certain fans that use 4 pin. Their should be a small piece of plastic so that it connects to the right 3 pins and leaves one blank.

If you are really unsure and want to test the tuniq right away connect the fan straight to 12V and the fan will be blow at full throttle all the time. That is if you can find the adapter 12V 4pin molex -> fan jack. Those adapters should come with the PSU or fans.

I modded a PSU so that it doesn't have to be plugged into a motherboard to work. This means i can test fans and stuff before i plug them in.

I can bring up a guide if you like. It just requires snipping some wires, soldering them together and wrapping them up. It effectively jump starts itself

i just connected it to pwr fan on the board and not the cpu power because its not made to fit...i also got the 12v connector but i have not used it because it works fine as is...updates comming..


this board is pain in the ***...no secondary ide edie hook up..so if ya got mutipule drives or cd rom your limited to choooseing what u can run ...
i guess all those sata ports make up for it, but not really....

this board came with nothing at all period.
the 3 pin dosent connect properly.

im finding at desktop for last hour now my pc cpu runs at 75 deg my case temp is 86 deg..and yes i put the thermal paste lol..verry little..im talking less then well..i looked at the stock heat sink for how much compound was on there and its nearly the same..verry little ...but there...
with this tuniq cooling i should get better temps then this on max???? ive had the fan on high the entire time already..

The motherboard clearly stated "open box", hence the price. But, you should have got the necessary cables with the PSU anyway. It only has one IDE plug because they expect most people now to use SATA hard disks and SATA dvd/cd drives. But, obviously they include one in case you do still have a IDE drive.

And, there is something wrong with the temps, that's a little too high. My guess is that the paste hasn't properly spread over the chip and is not covering some parts.

Take it off, and re-seat it. Make sure to squirt out a rice grain amount along the center of the CPU, then, put the Tuniq on, press down and swivel it about 10degrees in either direction. Then, screw it onto the motherboard.

After a few hours of use, the paste should turn into a liquid form, and cover the CPU completely. This is why after a few days, the temps drop by 4c or so. But, in the 70's is too high to begin with.

It's more like an exception to the rule to have two IDE connectors on motherboards nowadays. So better get used to it or search long and hard and pay extra to get 2 x IDE.

Is that 75 Fahrenheit or Celsius?

my PC runs between about 20-27 although its gotten as high/low as 33/17 Celsius. Thats like 60-75/80 in Fahrenheit

yea i just checked here its ben running a few hours now and im at 23c cpu on adverage use like posting on the forums here...and 31c on the system it self...i think shes running hot still...i did put verrly little on there and then i smeared it around...maybe it needs more..

Too much would create a thermal barrier, it's not a bad temp.
How warm is it in the room?
