ive decided to build it myself.. can you help me with the parts

so before i buy it i wanted to post the parts to make sure everything is in tip top shape.. ok:

Intel Dual-Core E2180 Allendale 2.0GHz 1MB L2 Cache Processor -- (for this i have not gotten a better fan because from reviews it goes to 3.0ghz on stock cooling)
ASRock ConRoe1333-D667 R1.0 Core 2 Duo/ 945GC/ DDR2/ A&V&L/ MATX
KINGSTON 2GB (2x 1GB) DDR-2 667MHZ PC-5400
Western Digital WD800JD 80GB SATA2 7200rpm 8MB Hard Drive -- (i have another external drive so the small size on this one is fine)
IBM 48X CD-ROM DRIVE
nVidia GeForce 9600GT 512MB DVI/TV-OUT PCI-Express Video Card
ROSEWILL 600 WATT SLI PSU -- (it has 19amps on each 12v rail and there is a total of two 12v rails)

and just to make sure.. this will most likely play;
older games on high (bf2, bf2142, far cry, quake 4)
and games like ffow, gears of war, etc on mediumish?

also what settings could I play ArmA on? i tried to look all this info up but it says mostly "3,0 ghz pentium 4" and my processor is only 2.0 ghz but i think its better still so idk

I prefer Abit/Asus/Gigabyte mobos. The Abit IP35-E is an excellent motherboard that is very cheap. Highly recommended. Why not get a $160GB drive? You can get twice the capacity for literally five dollars more. IBM makes optical drives? CD-ROM?? Dude, you can get a DVD Burner for $30! Don't skimp here. I don't trust Rosewill PSUs. Your computer will NOT use 250W, why buy so much? In terms of brands, I like Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, and Silverstone. The one I found in my earlier post was pretty good.

I apologize for being so critical. :hmm: When I design systems, I try to get the biggest bang for the buck as possible. I really hate wasting money, and I'm trying to save you some. Some things I say may cost more, but I guarantee they are good decisions. :nod:

ok if i replaced what i had in my quote with what you recommended besides the PSU then would i be able to play the aforementioned games on good settings?

psu - sorry i am not trying to argue with you but the rosewill has 5 stars and 187 reviews is there something about it that those reviewers dont know? my friend is giving me his so i dont want to buy one

The upgrades I mentioned had little to do with how fast the system will be. They were adding stability and getting better value for your money. But yes, that computer will be able to play those games at those settings.

As for the PSU, everyone has their preferences. Rosewill isn't mine. But 187 people can't be wrong! And if you're getting it for free, I would use it.

And I didn't think you were arguing with me. Before you pull the trigger, I'd repost a final parts list and see if Alex or Hellsent has anything else to say. Good Luck!

Sometimes you dont want to go with the cheapest drive because the price COULD affect the strength of the belt inside and if that snaps your screwed

what do you guys think now..does the psu has enough amps on the 12 v rails for the 9600gt thats important to me

I'm not quite sure what you already have, that can be re used, but as u can see I'm building a great new system for under 600$, and in fact it could be much less, if i did not get the cooler, and thermal compound, and xtra fan...

what do you have that can be reused and brought over to the new system?
psu sound card? anything?

i think having that knowledge will end up saving you a lot of $$$ in the end...
