    MSI NX8800GT-T2D1GE-OC, NVIDIA 8800GT, 1024MB, PCI-Express

What do you think about this GPU?
It's basically a 8800GT with 1GB ram. What makes this one stand out is the price which isn't actually more than you would pay for a 8800GT 512MB.
Don't worry, the specifications on that website are still in English.
    Thanks for your consideration.

not really worth it for the 1gb version, the 512mb is more than enough

If it's not that much more and you can afford it, then why not.

But, as the others said, 512mb is more than enough!

Well, I am just asking because obviously my current GPU (GeForce 7800GT 512MB) is taking it's last breaths and since I had a 512MB all the time, would there be any advantages in the future if I had 1GB? Ok, so today there's no reason to go for 1GB, but what about in a year or so? I wouldn't want to buy a new card when BF3 finally goes online.

I upgraded from a 7900GS 256mb to an 8800GT 512mb and it plays Crysis Very High, Oblivion Max with QTP, Bioshock Max, so on and so forth.

512mb, as you can see, is enough for the moment at least. 512mb is only just starting to become the requirement for maxing out, and still the only game I have that requires 512mb for Max is Crysis.

Not unless you want to play at either a gigantic resolution or some kind of texture intensive game, Crysis for example.

It would be worth it for 1920x1440 and upwards. The best bet for hi-res is still the 8800GTX.

1GB is overkill, except maybe if you plan to SLI also... I think....

Which would end up being 2GB? Isn't that a lil more overkill?
It might be overkill at the moment. But what about later?

Unless you have like a 30" Screen then yes it is overkill.. And if youre trying to be "future proof"...well...its impossible in the computer industry...definitely get 512Mb

Even if games require 1gb in the future, chances are that card won't play them on low :p

Sorry, what I meant was, I think when you SLI to different model cards or something if only uses the memory of one card.

I'm not sure though. me=not a SLI expert.
