Unless of course your going for max performance. Some people (not me) have that kind of money to spend.

Why are people complaining? It's still lower than the 8800Ultra.

How does it perform against 2 8800GT/8800GTS/3870's? Should be a similar price, right? Does having the SLI built in work better than attaching 2 separate cards?

Or maybe have 3 9600GT's for the same price.

havent seen any other benchmarks other that the 3dmark,

nope, under an OS it will still be seen as 2 cards with a SLi bridge, whereas the 3870x2 will be shown as only 1 card

Or maybe have 3 9600GT's for the same price.
                wait for benchies

3870X2 sounds good. Looks like ATI is finally getting back off the ground. Of course, it still has some six feet to ascend given its history.

I used to be a hardcore ATi fan. REAL 9800 USERS FTW! But they let me down with the 2900 so i had to go Nvidia. I'm loving seeing them get back in the game. It will fuel some competition and hopefully drive down prices.

And also don't diss fudzilla. It clearly states its a site for rumors. If you take info on the internet for more than it is yes, you'll get shafted. Use it as a sort of reference to what might happen. If you do this it's a great source. And as things move closer to release it gets more and more accurate.
