No, i wasn't saying it's bad. I was just commenting that despite having the same card running lower graphics, it's still slower.

Actually, in-game FPS controls far more than what you can see, it also decides how good your networking, input, sound, etc are. So a person with 200fps and a refresh rate of 60fps is going to have a large advantage (if their reflexes can handle the difference, anyway) over someone running at 60fps with 60fps refresh rate.

That game is made for the CPU. Anyway the stress test is very outdated and crap. It won't indicate anything about your performance in an actual game.

It actually is pretty CPU dependant.

I was running the stress test each time I o/c'd my processor, and there is a big difference between 1.8 ghz and 2.33 and 3 ghz. At 1.8, I would get around 140 fps, but at 3 ghz, I get 230 +

doesn't having an fps higher than your refresh rate put stress on your system? i always have vertical sync on because I can't stand horizontal tearing, so my fps is capped at 75

Ain't no stress. It's smoother, you have nothing to lose. Especially on a CRT where tearing is non-existant.

                    i get about 81fps maxed out 1280x1024

you guys do realize that theres also a HL2:Lost coast benchmark which is alot more intense. i get like 51fps maxed out.

but of course when i play LC, i get alot worse fps
