        Jesus Christ, look up what PAE does.

        It's a little known thing but it's been around for years and a small amount of googling the 3.5GB problem should also show it up.

        By the way, this will kill X-Fi cards the same way as 4GB does usually unless, presumably you have the latest drivers.
