to disable speedstep, go into your 'power' properties and choose 'home/office' or 'always on'.

you can find the power properties where your screensaver settings are: right click on desktop > properties > screensaver > power tab.

did you test your ram yet? :)

I'm pretty sure Speedstep must be disabled through the BIOS along with C1E Advanced Halt State

Run the memtest and post your results. It sounds to me like it could be some corrupted files too though.

that might be true, but speedstep wont be active if you just change your settings to what I posted.
