However, if you ever plan on running Linux with it, there aren't any drivers.. YET (even after like 2 years.)

If you have cash to burn, have a look at tha Auzenteck X-Fi Prelude. It's basically a pimped up Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS edition.

Sorry, but wrong Alex. The Prelude has all that and more (DDL as of the latest drivers), including better components on the card (better quality DAC's, caps, etc) in addition to the exact same X-Fi chip on the Creative cards, including the 64 MB of X-Ram,

the FATAL1TY PRO EXTREME GAMER edition has the worlds most useless technology called EXTREME X-RAM built in. It's pretty much a gimmick.

But, there is no denying, by paying the extra, you are getting an EXTREME card, endorsed by the one and only, EXTREME MR FATAL1TY . Now, thats EXTREMELY AWESOME!!!

All i know of him is that i found his picture in Custom PC magazine and won a prize for it!

Oh, and i was thinking of the Asus Xonar. Apparently, apart from a relatively high price, the Auzentech is very good
