I'm getting a 8800gt, and plan on overclocking my e6300 to 3 ghz. Think that will bottleneck it?

Excellent. I just have to be careful though because this is the first time I will be doing any major overclocking and I don't want to fry my cpu. I've been reading up a lot on it though and I think I know what I'm doing :)

You will not fry your CPU unless you really put the voltage too high. The likelyhood is that if you are only overclocking to 3.0ghz, you probably won't need to increase the voltage. I only had to increase by 0.025v at 3.2ghz on my E6600.
