Correct the x1950xtx used it, but the new 3870 uses it and thats at like 2.4ghzOriginally posted by alex98ukAh, your right. It was one of the X1950 models that used it, but it was very expensive.
memory speed is not the limiting factor for graphics card ATM, i read a review that overclocked the core memory and shaders indipendantly on an 8800gt and the increases in memory and core speed had little effect on framerate, whereas the increase in shader clocks raised the speed far more than the core an memory clock combined
I think that Nvidia might stick with gddr3, unless the new card is a beast making the memory the slowest part but i dont know about the price of ddr4 compared to ddr3 so i cant say, Gddr5 is fast but XDR has been around for a few years but its not been integrated in any graphics card thats because the price/performace ratio of 3/4 GHZ memory is not worth it. only the ps3 uses XDR but it only has 256mb of it due to the price of the stuffComment
