Well, personally i'd go Intel. It's faster and simply a better chip.

If AMD were faster, i'd go with them despite being an Intel fan, but at the moment they are not.

You could get better performance for your monies.

for the cost of that Ultra alone you can build a pretty decent Intel Quadcore setup

i wouldn't take an ultra right now dude cuz the nine series or newer 8 series are bound to come in 08 so i would stick with a GTX or 88GT and for procs well if ur into AMD get the 6 series one AMD FX x2 6000 (3ghz) or 6400 (3.4 or 3.2 i guess) i think they are priced well. as well as OS dude get XP for now vista is not tweaked yet for gaming. everything else looks good to meh dont know bout that 4gb Ram thing so i cant say.

dont 4gb unless you are getting a 64bit xp/vista. if you have 4gb with 32bit it will show up as 3.2gb and actually run slower than 3x1gb sticks. also, 64bit needs special drivers which are much harder to find and 3gb ram is plenty.

They are? I found 64 bit drivers for everything in my computer very easily.

It's not too bad for modern hardware, but it's annoying trying to get legacy peripherals or hardware to work.

E.g. 3 year old printers and scanners probably won't work

Dont waste your money on a ultra it will be outdated crap in 12 months

get a 8800gts 640mb (its play crysis very fast )and good duo or quad,4 gig,no software will use all that:nod:

edit:yes that sounds good but be ready with the 32 bit vista disc because 64 aint that good with all games

but that a nice computa spec`s dude,700 watt power supply would be nice for it

edit again:In my opinion SLI is not worth it unless you want your monitor to use 1600x1200 or more+++ and most lcd just dont go that high rez even then sli is a bit of a gimic in my view

the new 512mb GTS thats released soon is better than that. Plus its built on the G92 chipset like the 8800GT

I'd go for a dual 8800GTS 512 MB. But whatever floats your boat.

Better specs! u sure u wanna go SLI though, i mean u could get one now to hold ya until newer and DX10.1 cards come out. plus u save money one of the GTX's is enough but as mentioned above if u play in Uber RES than well its accounted for.

pretty sure. I have been playing on this crappy computer to long now. i was going to do it last year but life has a funny way of smacking you in the face sometimes. how long before the next video cards will be out. might wait till tax time(march) and get two of the newer ones.

when you guys say it only good for a higher res does that mean i can get a big a** lcd.. that would be nice
