    Finding Cd-Key through game files?

I reformatted my computer a while back, knowing i lost my cdkey.

However, i copied my BF2 file and still have it. Actually, it still runs this way till i try joining a server, then it crashes (if this is fixable, let me know)

So i want to actually install it again on my computer,. but i dont have my key... nor is it registered through EA so i cant get it that way. ANd i cant find a way for it to show up on regedit to find the key... is t here anyway to manually open a file in notepad to find the key?

PS- dont you HAVE to register to plauy online? didnt show on ea.com

Phone EA, they can provide you with a cd key in 2 mins as long as you can prove you have tye disc still.

Last I heard, you had to send ea a BF2 disk and $10 and they would send you a new key w/your CD back snail mail.

A pal of mine last week emailed 4 pictures of his disc and a ten minute call later and he was sorted.

It is possible to find your CD key in the registry. Its located in

              HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc

That should list your CD Key unless your registry and folders got deleted.

It is no longer located there. It is now encrypted.
