I've been playing bf2 for awhile now without any lag. Now, Im dealing with constant lag with bf2 and cannot figure out any other ways of gettin rid of this lag. it drives me nuts. I have done everything possible to reduce lag and gotten no good results. except for when i log into play, im fine for about 5-10 mins max.
I have also noticed some kicks from the game as well. From disc defrags, disc clean ups, updating drivers...ive done everything and nothing seems to help. So, I have contacted EA Support and i get this message....
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts Technical Support. I'm sorry for the difficulty that you are having with Battlefield 2.
I may need to ask some clarifying questions to better isolate the issue.
Were you able to run the game before without any issue?
Have any changes been made to your game files, computer’s hardware or software recently?
Does this happen in both online and offline play?
Did you try the game on another computer if the issue persists?
The following steps should allow you to limit possible conflicts.
1. Make sure that you have closed any programs or tasks running in the background as sometimes one of the programs can conflict with the game. Background applications such as anti-virus programs are often the cause of conflicts.
· Hold down the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete keys at the same time
· Click the "Processes" tab.
· Click on the gray bar in the middle column that says User Name to sort by user name.
· Do NOT select anything for SYSTEM, LOCAL SERVICE, or NETWORK SERVICE.
· Click on anything besides EXPLORER and TASKMGR for this User Name or other user names.
· Click on END PROCESS
· Repeat these steps until only explorer.exe and taskmgr.exe are open for this user profile.
2. Try reinstalling DirectX directly from Microsoft's web page to allow it to update. If your system still doesn't allow DirectX to update, contact your system manufacturer for further assistance in installing DirectX as it is a system program from Microsoft.
Click on the following link to Microsoft's DirectX download site:
3. Check the game CD or DVD for scratches, and test it in another computer. This mainly applies to problems during installation, but can also be an issue during play. CD's and DVD's can be scratched or marked quite easily, and the smallest scratch can cause big problems.
4. If, after running through each of the above steps, you are still having the problem, I'm going to need additional system information. Please send me this information from a program called dxdiag.exe. To do this:
· Go to Start -> Run.
· In the box, type the following: dxdiag
· Click "OK"
· Click the "Save All Information" button on the first screen of the application.
· Then on top of the "Save As" box that pops up, select Desktop (if it's not set to save there already), then click Save.
· Finally, attach the dxdiag.txt to your email reply.
After we receive this file we can continue troubleshooting the issues at hand and hopefully come to a solution.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
