    omg lagspikes

Hello, i'm experiencing the most frustrating lagspikes in the games i play on pc such as cs and battlefield 2. The lagspikes started to happen a month ago. I'll get into a server and my ping will jump to about 500 and then calms down for a bit but then go up again...VERY ANNOYING Im on wireless so...whats the deal? Help plz?

Think you may have answered your own question. Make sure that you that you are get a strong single at all times, and if it is a shared connection that nothing else is online at the same time.

        You're f*cked.

Kekeke. Try updating PB, phone your ISP for a line test...

Try pinging your router with "ping - t 192.168.1.1", assuming that's the IP correct address. Leave it pinging for around 5-10 minutes (CTRL+C to stop it) and see what happens. Next, do a tracert to say, Google.com, then ping -t each and every server until you find where the problem is.

This may sound silly, but, how far away isthe router from your pc, if its along way , this can cause MAJOR lagg, and the thickness of your walls can also becoz a problem!

With the combined, distance, it can send your Ping Very high
But Simply, Get a RJ45 Cable, and run it to your PC!!!

          or Your SCREWED!

Type the IP address you want to ping after the ping -t.
                    Type this:ping -t 192.168.0.1 for example

k i got done pinging. My highest was 333, ave was 4. But every minute or so... there will be about a 10 second margin where it goes up to about 200.

ok but i lag in everygame

edit: i think the real problem is that i frequently lose total connection...because on the ping test for my router...it'll sometime say "request timed out"
